Myerson EMA® Appliance

The EMA® (Elastic Mandibular Advancement) Appliance is a custom-made, removable oral device designed to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring non-invasively. By gently advancing the lower jaw, it increases airway space, promoting better airflow during sleep. The appliance features interchangeable elastic straps in various lengths and four tension levels—Soft (White), Medium (Yellow), Firm (Blue), and Extra Firm (Clear)—allowing for precise mandibular adjustments tailored to individual needs. Its low-profile design ensures comfort, enabling natural jaw movement and unimpeded oral breathing, even during nasal congestion. Many users find the EMA® Appliance to be a comfortable and effective alternative to CPAP machines, enhancing sleep quality and overall well-being.

FAQ

How do the at-home impressions work?

Our at-home impression process is simple and convenient. When you order, we mail you a kit with everything you need, including two upper and two lower trays in case you need a second try. Follow the included instructions or visit our instructions page for detailed guidance. If you're unsure about your impressions, take a photo and send it to our dental technicians (405-998-0112) for verification. We'll make sure your impressions are perfect before moving forward.

What if I mess up my impressions?

We will send you another impression kit at no cost to you. We can even schedule a time to Face-time you to help, if needed! If you end up needing a THIRD try, we offer additional impression kits for $20. No one has ever needed a third try (knock on wood)!

I grind my teeth, will this still work?

We use high quality materials that hold up against grinding pressure. 1 year warranty on all products. Dentist grade protection that doesn’t sacrifice your comfort!

What if my EMA appliance doesn’t fit properly?

If there are any issues with the fit of your EMA appliance, our dedicated customer service team is here to help. Contact us, and we’ll work with you to resolve the issue and ensure your appliance fits comfortably and works effectively.

Does the EMA appliance come with a warranty?

Yes! Every EMA appliance comes with a one-year warranty. If you experience any manufacturing defects or issues within the first year, we’ll repair or replace your appliance at no cost.

How do I clean and care for my EMA appliance?

Rinse daily with cold or lukewarm water after use. Once a week, soak your appliance in a commercial denture cleaner like Polident or Efferdent for up to 20 minutes. Avoid using other cleaning solutions, as they may damage the material. Be sure to rinse the appliance thoroughly after soaking.
When not in use, store your appliance in the provided case and keep it dry (do not leave it sitting in liquid). This is especially important if you have pets, as dogs are known to chew on appliances if left accessible.

How long does it take to receive my EMA appliance?

We will ship you your impression kit within 1 business day after receiving your order. Once we receive your impressions, our team begins crafting your custom EMA appliance. The snore guard fabrication process takes 5-7 business days, excluding shipping. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

How do I know if the snore guard is working?

You can tell your snore appliance is working if you notice reduced snoring, improved sleep quality, and easier breathing. Feedback from your partner, such as fewer disturbances, is another good indicator. If you have mild sleep apnea, symptoms like morning fatigue or headaches should decrease. Regular follow-ups with your dentist or healthcare provider can confirm its effectiveness, and if adjustments are needed, our customer service team is here to help ensure your appliance delivers the best results.
